Cost/Payment

YOU are worth investing in. Improving your life deserves as much careful attention as other things on which you spend money. What you pay for therapy reflects the value you place on your own health and the health of your relationships. For me, my fee reflects the value of my investment in the education and training necessary to offer you effective psychotherapy.I charge $165 per 50-60 minute session. I offer a sliding scale for households that gross under $120,000/year, from $145-$100 per session, based on household income.  (income verification may be required).

Insurance: I am a provider for the following insurance plans: Cigna, Surest, UnitedHealthcare® Choice and Choice Plus, UnitedHealthcare® Core and Core Essential, UnitedHealthcare EDGE®, UnitedHealthcare Navigate®, UnitedHealthcare® NexusACO™, UnitedHealthcare® Options PPO Plans, UnitedHealthcare® Select and Select Plus, UnitedHealthcare SignatureValue® Plans, and UnitedHealthcare® Tiered Benefit Plans.

I am also on several EAP panels, including Empathia/Life Matters, Health Advocate, and PAS.

For all other insurance, if you have a PPO insurance plan, then you may be able to see me as an out-of-network provider.* (see below) I can provide you with a monthly statement/receipt (sometimes called a superbill) to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please keep in mind that insurance companies require a diagnosis to approve your claim.

Flex Spending Accounts: Therapy is usually covered by your flex spending or health spending account. I can provide you with a monthly statement/receipt.

Providing letters or other services not covered by insurance will be charged separately. A sample fee for a letter is $100. Note: I do not evaluate for or provide letters regarding Emotional Support Animals.

I accept cash, check or card payment via Square or the IvyPay app.

*If you want to find out what your out-of-network mental health benefits are under your insurance, you can call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:

  • Does my plan provide reimbursement for out-of-network outpatient mental health care?
  • If so, is there a separate deductible?
  • What percentage of out-of-network costs does my plan cover?
  • Do I need pre-authorization for out-of-network services?
  • Is there a limit to the number of sessions that will be reimbursed per year?
  • How do I submit for out-of-network reimbursement?

That should give you all the information you need to determine what amount you are responsible for paying out of pocket for your therapy sessions.
