Support

It takes courage to ask for help…everyone needs support sometimes.  Whether you are going through hard times, have a difficult situation, or want to improve your life – I can provide the support you need.

My strengths as a therapist include: my ability to be patient and supportive, to see issues from the client’s perspective as well as from other points of view, and to problem solve.  I have 20+ years of clinical experience.  I am trained in many different approaches, and use those varied skills as appropriate.  I approach working with clients in a gentle yet honest way, respecting you as the expert in your life.

You should feel safe and nurtured during your meetings with me, attended to in the moment.  Our meetings will be based on talk therapy, and may include psycho-education or “homework”.   I use humor when appropriate.  I especially like using the Enneagram as a tool to help you understand yourself and others.  I also use cognitive behavioral, family systems, and psychodynamic techniques.

In addition to talk therapy, I am excited to offer Brainspotting, which is a relatively new, body-based technique that can help process strong emotions, distressing memories or trauma. See this page on this website to find out more about how Brainspotting works and what issues it can help with. Brainspotting can be both gentle and powerful.

I often use the Enneagram, a system of personality types, to help people understand themselves and others better.  The Enneagram can be very valuable as a non-judgmental way toward growth and self-compassion.

I have also completed advanced training on therapeutic use of nutrition and nutritional supplements, and have a long-time interest in alternative mental health.
